A simple, crispy, and flavourful air-fried fish recipe with a golden panko crust and a zesty, herby mayo mix. Perfect for tarakihi or any white fish!
Ingredients
For the Mayo Mix:
2 heaped tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp crushed garlic
Zest of 1 small lemon
Salt & pepper to taste
½ tsp paprika powder
For the Panko Mix:
¼ cup Fogdog Premium Panko Breadcrumbs
1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
For the Fish:
2 large fillets of tarakihi (or any white fish)
Baking paper (for air fryer basket)
Instructions
- Prepare the Mayo Mix – In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, dijon mustard, parsley, garlic, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Prepare the Panko Mix – In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with olive oil or melted butter to coat evenly.
- Coat the Fish – Place fillets on a plate. Spread a generous layer of the mayo mix on both sides of each fillet. Press the panko mixture onto the top only.
- Prepare Air Fryer Basket – Line with baking paper to help retain moisture and prevent sticking.
- Air Fry – Place the fillets panko-side up in the air fryer. Cook for 12 minutes at 180°C, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve – Enjoy immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon!
